FAQs

Q. Who can benefit from the care of a naturopathic doctor?

A. People of any age, from infancy to the elderly, with any health concern, can benefit from naturopathic medicine. Many of the people who come to Naturopathic Solutions are healthy but seeking to further improve their state of health and well-being, in order to prevent future disease. Some are suffering from an acute illness, such as a cold, the flu, or headache, and want to “kick-start” their body’s own healing processes naturally. Others may be suffering from chronic, degenerative illnesses, and come to us seeking a more natural, less harmful, or complementary approach to what they are being provided through conventional medical care.

Q. What kinds of health problems can be treated by a naturopathic doctor?

A. A naturopathic doctor may discuss virtually any chronic or acute concern, for women, men and children, and suggest natural therapies. People come to us for a broad range of concerns.

Q. Will you consult and/or interact with my primary care physician?

A. Yes. Naturopathic therapies are often combined with other medical treatments. We may also refer you to other practitioners, such as medical doctors (MDs), chiropractors, massage therapists and midwives.

Q. Do I need a referral to see you?

A. No, a referral is not necessary.

Q. What is the difference between a homeopath and a naturopathic doctor?

A. Homeopathy is just one of the therapies we naturopathic doctors may integrate into a total therapy plan for your health. A homeopath, on the other hand, would use only homeopathy.

Q. Is there insurance coverage?

A. No.  Currently in the State of New York, there is no coverage available for Naturopathic Health Care Services. We are currently working to change that but do not know if or when that will become a reality.

Q. What are your fees?

A.  The initial consult is $275 for approximately 1 hour.  This does not include any supplements you may need and/or specialized Naturopathic evaluations.  These extra costs vary by case and will be discussed with you during your consult.  Follow-ups are typically 1/2 hour and are $90.

Q. How is payment rendered?

A. Payment is due at the time of services.  For your convenience, we accept all major credit cards, checks and cash.
